No-Hassle Shopping For Big and Tall Men’s Clothing
Monday, March 12th, 2012Once upon a time having to shop for big and tall men’s clothing was something that most men dreaded doing. Specialty stores just are not some people’s idea of a good time, even if the clothes are excellent and attractive. But that has all changed because the more common department stores now offer clothing for bigger men. Then there is vanity sizing – it’s just that greater numbers of men now find themselves a part of the ‘big and tall’ group. However, lots of people have a difficult time finding clothes that are right for them if they’re not what’s considered an average size. So keep reading to discover the best ways to go about finding clothes that fit just right, and that you’ll like to wear.
You can’t always trust the sizes on the labels, so be sure to try them on before you buy and leave. The reason is simple, standard and uniform sizes really don’t exist, anymore. It’s pretty common to try on the same sizes and some are way too big and others way too small. No one likes that sinking feeling when you get home, try something on (the first time), and realize it doesn’t fit – and you’re looking at a trip back to the store. Spending a few minutes trying on the clothing you’re thinking about buying can save you hours of time and irritation later. Haven’t you ever bought something that looks really terrific, the label size is right, but when you try it on after you get home it looks awful?
When you decide to shop for clothes, be efficient, wear clothes and shoes you can easily get in and out of to reduce time. Just makes things go smoother with trying on so many clothes. Most people aren’t terribly attracted to spending half a day, or more, trying on things – buttons, tying, lacing, snaps, etc. It’ll make it all go faster to wear clothes you can get out of and into, fast. And you’ll spend less time in the dressing rooms and be done faster. This little trick will also help you in stores that limit the number of clothes you can take into dressing rooms.
Choose fabrics that will support your structure. Denim is a wise choice for many bigger men as this fabric can endure more weight than slacks or khaki pants. Denim can hold some of the weight in where lighter pants will do little more than cut off your circulation while emphasizing your curves. Choose your fabrics carefully. While lighter fabric might sometimes breathe a little better, they can also make you appear larger than you are. With a small amount of effort, you can easily find the big and tall men’s clothing that will fit you. You are no longer required to shop at specialty stores that cater to people of your size. Also consider that you may not even be a part of that size group with vanity sizing. Another thing that has changed is some previously ‘normal’ sizes are now called, big and tall – so stores are more likely to have your size, too. So it won’t be that tough to find your size with a little bit of creativity.
